Founded in 2010, UNIVERCELL is an innovative SME which aims at developing and commercializing next-generation homogeneous, mature and functional human cells with physiological properties closely matching those of in vivo adult cells for drug discovery, based on human iPS technology. We are now building a fully equipped GMP facility including quality management, quality controls and 4 Class B clean rooms to produced stem cells for clinical applications.
As a company, Univercell Biosolutions is specialized in the culture of stem cells and specifically of pluripotent stem cells. It has also a good experience in the generation of functional human insulin producing cells that are used by a large pharmaceutical company. Thanks to its employees, the company possesses a strong know-how in the development and industrialization of the production of adult stem cells for cell therapy. We are also involved in the IMI StemBANCC consortium for the production of hiPSC and the differentiation of those cells in cardiomyocytes.
Dr Philippe Bourin, MD PhD
is the scientific officer of Univercell Biosolutions. He is a recognize scientist in the field of stem cells and cell engineering with more than 25 of experience. In a previous position (EFS Pyrénées Méditerranée) he designed several GMP culture protocol for mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) that were and are used in many clinical trials. He has managed a cell factory facility for 9 years.
is an engineer specialized in the culture and the differentiation of stem cells. She is in charge of a protocol of differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into neurons. She will be involved in the quality control of the stem cell lots.
is an engineer which benefits from 10 years of experience in cell culture and R&D. She presently is involved in the culture of human pluripotent stem cells. She will be involved in the production of the stem cells.
